It’s a brand new year, and I’m starting 2026 with something I’ve been excited to share for a long time.
Every January feels like a clean page, but this one comes with a story that already means a great deal to me. Over the past few months, a new set of characters have taken shape, their arc has settled into place, and the world they live in has finally become real.
So today, I’m introducing my next major project:
Love on Wheels.
It’s a character-driven, emotionally honest love story that follows James Turner and Sarah Benson — two people whose lives collide in an unexpected way and end up changing each other’s future.
Who are the new characters?
At the centre of Love on Wheels are James Turner and Sarah Benson.
James is a disabled web designer living in isolation, surviving more than he’s living.
Sarah arrives as his new live-in carer, expecting nothing more than a job — but she becomes the first person in years who actually sees him.
Their relationship develops through small moments, real fears, and the kind of vulnerability most stories shy away from. The book explores:
- depression and recovery
- the complexity of care
- the honesty of disability
- emotional intimacy built through day-to-day life
- how two people can break, heal, and rebuild together
It’s not a story about perfection — it’s a story about truth. And it leads to a warm, grounded ending built on choice, love, and belonging.
What makes this story different?
This is one of the most personal books I’ve ever worked on.
It’s grounded, intimate, and focused entirely on character. There are no shortcuts or clichés — just two people navigating real emotional stakes, with all the fear, hope and honesty that come with it.
And despite the heavy themes, the core of the book is hope:
Finding your person.
Finding your place.
Finding the moment where life finally feels like enough.
When will it be released?
I’ll be outlining and drafting Love on Wheels throughout 2026, and you can follow every step of that journey on my writing calendar.
Want to see what else is on the way?
Why start a new story now?
Because the timing feels right.
2025 was about settling into this new author site, introducing readers to my work, and finding my footing as CMeewrites. Now it’s time to grow — to share new characters, new ideas, and a story that means something.
So here we go:
New year. New characters. New story.
Love on Wheels begins now — and I can’t wait to share the journey with you.
